Ive been sewing for a long time, mostly on and off, but one of my goals for 2018 was to sew more often. I decided to talk a 3 day course to take my sewing skills to a new level, probably one of the best decisions I have made. It reignited my passion for sewing.
I was recently at Joann’s and saw this floral leather fabric and fell in love with it. I knew exactly what I was going to do with it; an a-line skirt with pockets. The basics of sewing aren’t too difficult but adding details can be, like pockets. It may have added a few steps to my design but it was definitely worth it! I love having skirts with pockets. I don’t know if you can tell but the skit is faux leather, so I had to add stitches over the skirt for detailing to allow the leather to lay down. I really liked how it turned out and people loved it!
